Presentation title: Analysis and optimization of the smelting process in hydrogen-based shaft furnace


Mansheng Chu, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, currently serves as the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the School of Metallurgy at Northeastern University, and the Dean of Institute for Frontier Technology of Low-carbon Steelmaking. Also serving as a member/deputy secretary-general of Metallurgical Reaction Engineering Society of The Chinese Society For Metals, a member of Metallurgical Solid Waste Resource Utilization Branch of The Chinese Society For Metals, a member of Metallurgical Nonferrous Safety Branch of the National Safety Production Standardization Technical Committee, a member of the Joint Working Group on Hydrogen Metallurgy Standardization of Steel Standards Committee, a vice director of the iron Making Branch of Liaoning Province Society For Metals, a director of the Liaoning Province Society of Engineering Thermochemistry, and the Editorial board member of Journal of Iron and Steel Research International, International Journal of Minerals, Metallurgy and Materials, Journal of Iron and Steel Research, Sintering and Pelletizing, Journal of Materials and Metallurgy, Angang Technology, Hebei Metallurgy and other journals, and deputy editor of China Metallurgy. 


Aiming at the national “double carbon” strategy and the low-carbon frontier of steel, focusing on hydrogen metallurgy, low-carbon blast furnaces, digital ironmaking and other low-carbon key common technologies, he has undertaken more than 50 projects such as national low-carbon special projects, 863 projects, key projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, major international cooperation projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology. Published over 400 papers, including over 140 indexed by SCI and over 200 indexed by EI; Published 6 monographs; 2 major scientific and technological achievements transformation projects; Applied for over 60 invention patents; Received 4 provincial-level and ministerial-level science and technology awards. Selected as a leading talent in scientific and technological innovation under the national “Ten Thousand Talents Plan”, a leading talent in scientific and technological innovation under the “Xingliao Talent Plan” in Liaoning Province, a level of hundred people talents under the “Millions of Talents Project” in Liaoning Province, the Ministry of Education “New Century Excellent Talent Support Program”, an advanced young scientific and technological workers under The Chinese Society For Metals, and “May Day Labor Medal” in Liaoning Province. Approved the establishment of “Liaoning Province Model Worker Innovation Studio”.
