Dr. Zushu Li is a Professor in Metallurgy at the Advanced Steel Research Centre (ASRC), WMG, of the University of Warwick, United Kingdom. He joined the University of Warwick in April 2016 as a Principal Research Fellow/Associate Professor after being awarded the prestigious Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) Manufacturing Fellowship. He was previously a Principal Scientist Steelmaking in Tata Steel R&D (based in the UK) and has worked in Tata Steel for nearly 10 years. Professor Li specializes in studying high temperature reactions/phenomena of multicomponent systems in metal manufacturing processes. At ASRC, he leads the research in decarbonisation of the steel industry. His main research directions include low carbon, low energy alternative ironmaking technology, steel scrap recycling and scrap based EAF steelmaking process, hydrogen applications in steel manufacturing, steel circularity, and energy and materials recovery in steelmaking. His research is supported by a variety of funding bodies and industries.
